FYI - Bought Metro 2033 thanks to Welshys approval and the fact it came up on special with a local online store retailer. I see on steam it retails for $79.99USD. I got it for $9.95NZD which is about $15USD. Excellent buy I thought except wont get till Monday!

Could be the whole exchange rate thing? $80USD is extremely expensive. In the shops, most games retail for around $100NZD. I know when I bought the valve action pack for 100USD on Steam it ended up costing me $150NZD. Maybe this is why I have not bought any other games on steam as it feels like were getting overcharged.

I believe Steam prices vary depending on locations. For example a game in the US will cost $50, but in Russia the equivalent price will be $60 based on region. Its bullshat I know, but thats just how it works I guess. Probably importation costs, etc, but Valve just milks up the money.

Got that same issue Welshy mentioned where it wont start. Downloaded a patch but there must be another one to allow it to run? Maybe tonight I'll actually get to play it. Maybe this is why the retailer was selling it cheap? To many customers complaining they cant get it to load? and they just offloading their stock.
