Just throwing this out there. Not sure that is vista giving you the problem.I am using vista 64 bit and radiant works fine.Did you install latest .net. Did you run the tools as a adminstrator. Maybe you could try running it backward compatatible, do a search in windows on how to run back wards compatiable programs. I managed to get all but the very oldest games to work in vista. You really have to follow the wiki to letter on how to setup editor, and change files, move files etc.
this is what i used, make sure you read it thru first.

Yup, did all that. Have run it as Administrator, I have the latest .net installed, have tried backward compatibility, followed the wiki to the letter, and also followed along with the Modsonline video tutorial also just to be on the safe side. Like I said I have tried quite a few things both this time and the previous time I installed it, and still I have the same problem. What leads me to think that the problem is not with the mod tools and is with Vista is, not only have I heard others with Vista with similar problems, but I get the same exact problem when I try and run the Hammer editor for Left 4 Dead 2. I guess it's just one of those software mysteries you can't solve.

I have been doing an extensive search of the web on this problem, and it seems that there are quite a few problems running Radiant on Vista, and several have found solutions for their problems, but to date, I have yet to even find my exact problem, let alone a solution for it. It is beginning to look like there may be no solution to this particular problem. And as for getting rid of Vista for another Operating System, at the moment I am stuck with it. Thanks for the help tho.
