IzNoGoD, i don't understand what you're saying because why wouldn't it be possible to have ground snow on a map? that's like saying you cant have grass or dirt.. It's just a texture and map in any game can have it.

The only thing that may cause an issue is whether the game has snow textures which is normally no if there isn't any snow missions in the game, if so, you just make a custom texture.

What i am getting, and i may be wrong, is that they are adding snow fall to pre-compiled maps without snow, hence they cannot add "ground snow" without opening the map_source and changing the geometry and textures to match. Or maybe Mystic is right and there isn't snow textures at all. Oh well, that is my two cents.

I talked to a freind and there is snow missions in CoD2 so textures will be available but like you said its harder (not impossible though) to add them to an existing map.

I remember a snow conversion of brecourt in CoD1 which was done by replacing textures.

If you were skilled with the Effects Editor, you can modify the snow effect so that upon death (touch the ground) another flat effect can be planted there (similar to explosions). This wouldn't look like snow in Winter Crash, but it may look better than nothing.

Do you mean something like this?
Code:
animscripts\utility::setFootstepEffect( "snow", loadFx( "bio/player/snow_efx_name" ) );

Im not sure how it would look on a non-snow surface though.
