Decals by their nature are generally resting near or on a solid surface so you always turn them "non-colliding".

Non-colliding brushes are also detail [thumbs_up]

oh, I never used non_collision option on the brushes I can't touch or walk on - maybe I should start right now...though I guess it won't affect my problem with MAX_MAP_DRAW_VERTS?

Decal brushes are non-colliding by default. Thus, the make non-colliding option is useless on all decal brushes. A non-colliding patch or brush is not detail. If you want a brush or patch to be non-colliding and detail those are two separate options.
