anyone know how to edit the scale size of a mesh/model

Were you referring to resizing a static mesh? I had read somewhere that the models could be resized.

ok np.....

double click on the static mesh/model to open up the properties.

goto display.

look for draw scale
default at 1.0000
change it to whatever your liking.

thats it

Thanks for the info. After resizing the mesh are you seeing any distortion in the textures or smoothness of the mesh?

surprising as it may seem....
i made the model from scale 1 to scale 10 and saw no difference in quality.

amazing isn't it

That's cool. I am in the process of trying to learn 3ds max and hopefully I will be able to produce the first mesh for my level and I was wondering about the size. This way when I build the mesh and import into unrealed I can resize to fit. That's great news.
