Had a funny idea for a mod, but not sure if it's something that can be done.
I wanted to make L4D2 into a Golf FPS. 4 players play golf in a flooded
city. (rooftop to rooftop, and other high spots) and have to fight ya way
to the next ball placement. maybe even have the other three defend the
person hitting the ball.
as I said, it's an idea, and L4D2 seemed like the best starting place for it
plus I've never heard of a First Person Shooter Golf game before.. lol

It could work...I think. You pretty much have all the models and textures you need...apart from the actual ball I guess.

You could set up each hole as a crescendo event and have the other 3 defend one player while they attempt to get the ball in the whole. Spawn one golf club at the beginning of the map that the one player uses.

You could then just add gates or doorways that do not open until the ball has been potted (putted?...insert random golf term here)

The only problem I can see is that you will have to do some experimenting with the func_physbox entity to see what can be done (detecting when the ball is in the hole etc...). A func_physbox entity allows you to create a brush that is treated by the engine as a physics object. For example when you hit it or shoot it it will move in the same way of prop_physics does.

It can be done...maybe [wink]

Using your idea, i think it would be much better to have a driving range instead of moving around. This way you could score points for hitting the zombies on the range, more points for longer distance..

Sounds fun!

Oooo I like the driving range idea. like a bonus round after each hole.
was also thinking about a mini golf course, with infected in the way.
ya have to get the ball past them to set off pipe bombs wired to the hole.
