Hi there. I want to put few tutorials in the Tutorials section. So, I go to "Add Your Tutorial" link, type in my tutorial and click on Preview button. Every backslash disappears, but they are still present in 'Description' and 'Content' textboxes. It's annoying, since I need backslashes in my scripting parts. Maybe there wouldn't be such a problem if I could put a Code Snippet, like following:

Code:
main()
{
  thread maps\_load::main();
}

... instead of this:

main()
{
thread maps\_load::main();
}

But it doesn't seem there IS such an option. Or backslashes disappear only in preview and will be present in final, posted version?

But backslashes in some tutorials are present and untouched. I wonder why.

I hadn't realized. There must have been a server update that caused this change.

I have fixed it for the tutorials. Please let me know if this crops up anywhere else... or even in a different way within the tutorials section.

Thanks, it works like a charm :)

One more question, although it's not an issue. What about those Code Snippets like I've shown above? With syntax highlighting and that stuff? Is this available for writing tutorials? That could be really handy to make scripting parts more attractive.

regarding the code snipits... right now, I can either setup the the WYSIWYG editor which we're using in the tutorials right now or the BBCode editor which you see here in the forums. I figured the WYSIWYG editor was more useful for the tutorials. Please let me know if I am incorrect about that.

Maybe you are right, it becomes more intuitive that way, I get it. I just got used to BBC [devilishgrin] I think that's just a matter of time till I'll get used to this as well [duh] Thanks anyway [thumbs_up]

I've submitted my tutorial, but it didn't show up in the tutorial list. Is it in moderation queue or something? It's my first time posting a tutorial and I want to ensure it's not another problem about disappearing things, and there's nothing about it in FAQ section ( this is what I found: http://modsonline.com/Faqs-list-3.html%2371 but it's from the times when 'Add Your Tutorial' feature wasn't available I believe ).

It is in the queue section and once it has been reviewed it will be posted.

Cheers

Thanks, I see it now. But there are few misspellings, reformatted text and backslashes are gone again [angryalien] I saw that's 'corrected' version, which was done by ... Welshy. I compared both version and I was really scared by that huge amount of red and green highlights [eek]! Even more interesting is a fact, that in my original version before every quotation sign was ... a backslash, which was later removed. It seems that it was done automatically, and so those made by me were deleted as well.

Can I edit it on my own without any worries that text will be deformatted again? Or leave it to you guys? [confused]
