I got a hotel.
I want players to have access outside the rooms by using windows and walkin on the ledge. But since the 1st floor is pretty low, they could jump down and survive it, something I do not want to happen.

So, how do I make a "sudden death" area outside the building, on the streets ?

Note: a trigger or something to return the flag (ctf), 'cos it mustn't stay there, in an area where nobody can reach it...

there are two ways, either make the roof/ledge higher. If you have the window at 128 height it will not damage the player. You need at least 256 or higher when they fall down.

iYou could also add a trigger hurt to your map.. Simply place a brush above the street and make it trigger brush (its located in the tools textures). Select the trigger brush and right mouse button on the grid, search for trigger, trigger_hurt.

Now when its trigger hurt you can change values of the brush with the N key (entities).

yes use a trigger_hurt near the ground so it looks like they die from the fall. also cover the area with a brush textured in "tools/_nodrop" this tells the game to remove & return fallen items: flags, breifcases, guns, everything.

And what you could do to finish it off, make some fog just above the ground :). Use the fog brush and give it a fog texture :)
