Ok i just saw what u have for specs for this rig if im right this is it
Quote:
Gigabyte GA-770T-USB3 AMD 770T Socket AM3 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
Crucial 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz/PC3-10600 Memory Kit CL9 1.5V
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8GHz 9MB Cache Socket AM3 Retail Box Processor
Sapphire HD 5770 Vapor-X 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card
So if this is Right this might be your problem here
- Crucial 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz/PC3-10600 Memory Kit CL9 1.5V ( manufacturer #: CT2KIT25664BA1339 )
is not supported by your board ref from your manual found here in a pdf and you will see all the ram that is supported for that board
http://www.gigabyte.us/FileList/MemorySupport/mb_memory_ga-770t-usb3.pdf
but this is just what rams that they have tested your board with
if not if the this is in a case do this unplug from board
- CD Rom & Burners & DVD Rom
- All Hard Drives
- Floppy ( if have one )
- Sound card ( if have one )
Try booting to your bios this way if u get in and it runs. Shut down plug one thing in at a time and start up and go to your bios. as soon as u plug one in and it does not go to your bios you a problem of what ever it is conflicting or it just broke

instead of just editing it again
foyleman writes...Quote: Actually.. try calling the manufacturer of the board for assistance. Otherwise, I do not know how to confirm if the issue is with the board or other piece of hardware without being able to test it in other machines.
I would do what foyleman said if yea don't wanna wait send your board back cuz im pretty shere if its not that ram problem its that board. as for the cpu it rar but more commen with the boards. or i would get the ram that they have posted that they have tested it on |

Hey foyle, well i do apologise for being away so long and appreciate the kind thought. After spending so much i just want it too work now as you could imagine, it's bad that now because the delivery guy has been round everyday this week we talk to each other like old school chums .
I was all hyped up this morning as another processor i brought arrived. stuck it in, same problem, no display at all.. So it can't be a faulty processor for them both to behave the exact same way
I have no idea the cause as the single core work fine, the board support 6 core am3 so it should work, now i have 12 cores of processor sitting there not working. I'm getting no responses from forums and am desperate for help at this time
If you get the time today please rack your brain for any ideas you can think of, i would be in your debt buddy |

Are all the symptoms the same as before?
(wondering if you still have freezing at the same point or if things have changed in any way)
If you unplug the hard drive and everything else you can. The only things plugged in are the psu, one stick of memory, cpu, video card, keyboard (no mouse). Can you now get to the bios without issue?
(you used to freeze trying to get to the bios)
Are you using the same old or new memory?
(I still don't trust the memory compatibility with the motherboard. I've been burned on this before.)
Have you replaced the PSU yet?
(psu could be putting out faulty voltage on one rail after being moved around so much)
I've had some of the strangest issues come up as a result of bad memory and bad voltage. Things I would have never thought could be caused by these. Therefore I am quick to blame these two components. To avoid these, I always replace a power supply when I change the motherboard. Yes, I have extra power supplies in the closet as a result that may or may not be good. Even one still in the box.
For memory, which is the toughest to comply with, I only go for manufacturer recommended memory because I don't want the headaches later. If I can't find the recommended memory, I buy a different motherboard. I had a beast of a machine (at work) sit for a year - not working - for what I believe was a memory compatibility issue. A few months ago, I gave up and tossed the guts and bought new parts. A real waste of a processor, motherboard and memory... but I have a working machine now. This machine is what settled my opinion of which memory to buy.
I think Stryder had a heck of a time with a new build earlier this year. He ended up taking it to a shop and had them debug it. You might consider that.
I wish I was more than just a hobbyist and could really just tell you what's wrong. |

Foyle you have no idea how much your last post helped. I went out a brought a new PSU just to test as it was a cheap brand but 800w, either way the same problem so i took it back for a refund.
Then i read through what you wrote a few times and talking of memory made me look further into what i had. I brought two new DDR3 sticks but havn't really took much notice of them until because i didn't expect them to cause the error i was having. I took one stick out of the first slot, same problem so put it back, took the stick from slot two and bang fired up
So bad memory stick i figured, but tried my luck at putting both sticks in the 3rd and 4th slots and fired up again. So for some reason it won't boot from slot 2..
Either way im happy now, got it to start with 6 cores, 4gb or ddr3 and a hd 5830 i don't know what to do first hehe Only problem is it all working on a bench test (well box under my work bench) as soo as i transfer to case, nothing works, still working on that but untill then ill just have to be careful where i put my feet.
Thanks for the help foyle, very greatful you helped me sort it, im a man of my word though and am now in your debt |
