My friend has started on a map, now he said that if i could help.. i said sure. But i didnt know what i have to have so, where can i download the SDK for half life 2?

Through STEAM. Once the game is installed, the download option will show up in STEAM.

You can download it through STEAM if you have registered your CD key. But i got a back-up disc from the pcgamer magazine. Try installing it from the discs you got when you bought it, if that doesn't work just in-stall it through STEAM. Simple

So let me get this straight the mapping tool used to create maps for CS:Source u have to dl from your STEAM account??

yup. The programs (tools) used to make maps is a separate program from that which is used to play the maps.

You have HL2 installed right..... See at the bottem of play games menu it says "source SDK" in grey text. Right click it and go down to install game.... And go through the setup.
