It only takes about 10 mins to get to level 40 with the light so I can't see overheating is a problem, my last map compiled ok.

at stages during the compile my cpu usage goes upto 100% on nearly all 4 cores and pushes my cpu temp to near 70 degrees (from 45-50 at idle) and thats with good cooling... the bios can be set to shut down at temps around that...
