Is this a one-off or is this a reoccuring problem? I often get random errors so I have gotten into the habit of saving my maps often.

Thios is a common error with radiant. The closest thing to helping you would be this: http://modsonline.com/Tutorials-read-320.html This is for call of duty 2 radiant, but try it out for cod4, it could work as the radiant programs are very similar if not the same. NOTE: This doesn't fix the error but reduces its occurence significantly (for me anyway).
