Is there some function that will return a players IP address to script? I know status prints IP info to the console but that's pretty useless as you can't store that in a variable.

Nope it isn't possible AFAIK. Usually when this info is required some kind of 3rd party tool (such as the B3 Bot) is used to parse the status response from the server.
