I'd like to know what you guys work on / finish first on a map.

Do you work on your prefabs, buildings etc, then place them where you want around radiant without any terrain laid out?

Or do you do the opposite and make the terrain like roads, hills, then work on the prefabs?

And of course, do you work on both around the same time?

Reason I'm asking is because I've done it one way ( finished prefabs first then worked on terrain ).. It was a mess.

I'd like to know what you recommend.

Just do terrain first and place prefabs by Infinity Ward or Treyarch.

Or take one of the map examples from the tools and retexture it and make a day and night version with appropriate FX.

^Both have worked really well for people in the community.

In all seriousness, check out http://www.worldofleveldesign.com/ though.

I tend to go at a map with a 'lego' style, by that i mean where a building is i place a shaped block, and any key areas i normally mark with a model or something easy to recognise so i know where it is.

Then it's a case of join the blocks up with terrain patches, then turning the blocks into buildings.. I find that the easiest way to get things done easily and quickly
