Hi, another quick Q that might be a bit easier to answer...

I'm used to using a thing called "r_speeds" to measure my polygon budget throughout my HL1 maps (entity and world polygons)... this was measured in the No. of polys rendered on screen

Now then, this seems to be replaced by an aesthetically nice alternative "+showbudget", that shows where the cpu and gpu or whatever-pu are taking the hardest combined hits... this is measured in computer lag, ideally for the sole purpose of maximising fps and gamespeed...

This is pretty cool, and I dont need and explination of each element or anything (at this stage!), I get the basics...

What I'm concerned about is what is a good benchmark--- > before I could ideally keep world polys on screen below 600wploy and know there were no dramas for other peoples computers... But now that I'm measuring purely how my computer handles my maps, I'm left with no indication of how it will perform out in the public world...

Could someone please advise me on this matter!! I cant find answers anywhere :(...
