hi i have a ipod touch 3g and i love it but im thinking of getting a iphone.

anyway i have about £215 to spend and i looked and it basicly means i can either get a 2g 16gb or a 3g 8gb

i looked at some places and they say only difference is on 3rd gen faster internet and better gprs pinpoint - both of which i dont care about. i need more space that 8gb anyway.

But i was wondering if there is any other good places or other phones i can get for about that price.

i was also reading that the 2g came with the "auto focus" feature but i thought only 3gs had it, unless it was in the 3.1.3 fireware?

anyway what would you do????

I love my iphone however I also live in an area where the cell services is great. People in California would disagree with me on that and I have no idea what kind of service you get.

Do not get an older gen iphone. If you want to play games or you want the advantages of the iphone sdk 4.0 which is soon to be released, then don't get the older phone. You are better off looking for a refurbished 3GS. The processor speed is dramatically different and really makes the difference when using the phone.

We expect the next generation of iphones later this year too.

Sorry.
I have a friend with an older iphone. He does like it, however when I play certain games on it, I can see the stuttering frame rate. Not all games, but some. This is my main reason for cautioning against it. If you have the means of checking out program you are interested in on an older phone I suggest that you do so. Otherwise I would recommend to continue saving up for a more recent model.
