in one of your tutorial i saw, as you merged a "hands.max" to you pistol model. the question is: where did you found this "hands" :) or you created it yourself?

hey.

I just used the Deh-tons md5 import plugin supplied with the first tutorial on the pistol_view.md5mesh. You can then select by element in Max and delete the parts of the weapon.

Remember you must:

*create your bones for the new weapon
*Don't scale the bones or you'll get crazy things happening with the model
*Re-rig the bones to the model like in the tut.
*Make sure all verts are rigged as you'll get a console error in doom3
*Once in doom make a .cm file with the pick-up model.

Hope those hints help.
