I dont think DX ripping is illegal if the assets come from a COD game and go into a COD mod. Its when you rip assets from one game and put them into a different game by a different publishers. That's when you infringe copyright laws. But COD games are all owned by Activision, and as all mods are technically also owned by them as well, you cant infringe any copyright, because its all owned by the same publisher.

I think Demon is right. Any ways all COD series is Activision's property.

Thanx for the info [wave]

Didnt know about the ripper. But then I have little interest in MW2 models anyways. Well there are a few odd models here and there that would be nice but it sounds like the extractor is more of a problem than its worth in the long run. [crazy]

Works good for me [jumping]

crashed only when i've setted aplication to be scanned.

In global monitoring working great.

(instaler gives a link to tutorial with optimal settings)

It has plugins for 3ds max 06 to 09 and 2010 (doesn't work with 2009 version :/ ), and .obj exporter. that means maya can run it, but in this case imported models are skewed.

Importers for 3ds max have tweakable aspect ratio and if it's setted correctly models looking normal.

Program is ripping models (even snowflakes in "cliffhanger ;p ), textures (a lot of it ;) ) and shaders.

Thing is that there's a lot to remove from scene (especialy if scene is big) cause it's hard to get orientation.

I think You should try it, cause it's good to know tool like this one . It's quite usefull

Since IW did not provide mod tools nor the raw files I do wonder what their take would be on using those assets. Maybe they wouldnt care so long as nobody profited from it. Then again, it seems Act sued South Park for some reason or another, like their legal department doesnt have something better to do. [biggrin]
