HardOCP has just released the results of their Windows XP x64 Edition benchmarks. If you've been contemplating getting into the 64bit OS and hardware, I suggest you wait a little longer.

The focus of this article is to determine if upgrading to Windows XPProfessional x64 Edition with an AMD Athlon64 would give us a bettergaming experience in current games. We used eight games for ourevaluation including one that supported Win64 AMD64 specifically.

What we found isn’t too shocking really, but rather reassuring. In allthe 32-bit games tested, we saw overall static performance usingWindows XP Pro x64 Edition. The only game in our lineup that had aspecific Win64 AMD64 instruction path, The Chronicles of Riddick, actually performed worse in 64-bit than it did in 32-bit Windows.

Here we go again. Instead of making WinXP 32 bit version virtually the best they throw some more bugs in the mix.
What I was reading 32 bit apps would run fine on the 64 bit OS and hardware. That shoots that full of holes. hehe
I am perfectly happy with Winxp as it stands now. No sense in buying a new computer with an OS that still is full of bugs.
I saw that Dell, Alienware and a few others have already started production on a 64 bit system. I work on Dell's day in and day out for the last 6 years. Now if you buy a new Dell you can throw away your video card, harddrive since it won't work in the new Dells. They are strictly PCI Express for Video and SATA for harddrives.
