I have been making a map which has turned out really well, the main part of my level is that the ship sinks when you blow it up on demolistion. Heres the problem even though i have entered all the same values to all objects but when you blow the ship up the ladders go up in the air and come back down while the ship sinks like tis suppost to. I'm really confused to why this happens.

If i could solve this problem i would be able to finish my level as its like 99% done. :( Is there anyone whos has any idea on how to solve this? Narc has been a great help but i don't want to become a bother to him by asking his help again, he is welcome to though if you want narc.

i am guessing you are using func_door to make the ship sink as you describe. i have done like this as well for the demolision on one of my maps.
i not sure if the way i did it was the best way, but the results were good, so i will explain. the rubble that was to fall down was made as a func_door and was made to be on the floor, so in radiant it is in the position it would end up in. then i set it to start open (either check the box or enter spawnflags : 1 ) then adjust the lip key to set where the 'door' opens to, so that when the stuff starts as open it is up in the postion you want it. then it is set with angle : -2 (this is the angle to move up, but as the 'door' starts open it closes by falling down)

if you have already made it like this then you have probably just missed something or entered the wrong value somewhere. if you want i can have a look at it and try and find the error. there is the email link at the bottom of my post, so you can just click that and send your .map file to me to look over.

Your past me, since I don't use DEM, ladders are entities, can they do that?

The actual ladder entity doesn't move, the ladder textured block moves.

Yeah fix i used the func door, narc told me how to do it and i've learnt off him. :) I've gone over everything i can see and now i'm all lost because i don't see anything missing. I'll contact you by the email, might be eaiser to explain and that.

all you need do is add the brushes that represent the ladders into the func_door -- select them and the ship then rmb and choose move into entity. you can possibly turn the func_ladder off/on if targetted so when the ship sinks no one will be left standing on air during that 5 second interval.
