He was just trying to help you. You don't have to be rude...

I suggest starting your map with cheats activated, turn noclip on and fly around where your FX should be. Go under the terrain too. If you can't find anything, then the FX isn't loaded or isn't played.
If you find it, then it's an angles problem.

What Chaos_Creator was saying (I think) was that a good way to add FXs is to add an entity where the FX will be.
For example, add a info_null to where the FX should play, then select it, press N and copy the coordinates and angles.

Yup, quit the sarcastic abuse towards our members now.

If you want to see the angle of an effect then load up the Effects Editor and then load any FX, you can see all the properties there and then change them there, or reflect the change you need in your script.

If your FX are not changing double check you are compiling the fast file correctly (no errors) and in the correct directory.

I haven't edited COD4 in a while, is the MP createfx directory really a shared SP or is your directory wrong?

Hi Mr.Mapper,

I always use this way below for my Fx's.

You will have to change the loadfx to your fx, then change the "4524, -1676, 200" to your desired FX origin

Then mess around with the AnglesToForward and AnglesToUp varibles to get the angle you want, just use trial and error :)

If your FX is not a looped FX, then write back here, and I will change up the script for you.

Where is the respect? You want help from everyone but you demand it like some rich kid. Reading through the pages here, there is more than enough information to figure out "why" your effect isn't playing in the right direction.

Code:
ent.v[ "angles" ] = ( X, Y, Z );






This would play the effect normally. For example "fire" would play like this.

ent.v[ "angles" ] = ( 270, 0, 0 );



Press "N" in radiant and while your in the entity editor, have a look in the lower left corner. It shows the directions for you.

Are you even trying to figure it out on your own or you just waiting for someone to fix it for you?

Considering the rudeness and impatience I'm still gonna help
I think that the problem could be sorted by pressing the buttons with the 3 arrows to the right of the playback bar (the slider with 0.30 by default)(this is in the FX editing program)
they should change the angle the effect plays at or at least make it easier to via other settings

Or You can edit your fx in FXeditor, set angles as you wish , save as your custom fx with custom name. Then in gsc call this effect with your coordinates and zero angles.

Game engine is reading zero angles as predefined in FXeditor
