Its basically the same period as the Nam war - during the '60s and early '70s. It is basically a fictious-come-real war based on the American CIA "Black Ops" involvment during the Anti-Cuban/Contra war in Nicaragua of the '60s.
Even so i bet we will still see laser dot sights and and all that stuff again. I just want COD to go back to how it was. You have a team, that team has a selection of its nations weapons, remember how you had to play german to use KAR98, british for the BREN or russion for the PPSH and so on... None of this perk or rank crap
COD1 i must have played for hours and hours, when UO came it was like the hand of god came to make a great game greater even COD2 was good but with COD4 i played a few hours, not enough to even remember the map names and didn't bother at all with MW2
Well, you and I may enjoy that kind of game play but by far the majority of COD players want more for your money than just a simple weapon menu. They like all this perk and attachment crap.
However, you can always mod the hell out of the game and take it back to how it used to be. I did that with the first couple of iterations of my Demon mod for WaW. I removed all perks and only had a weapon loadout based on your nationality. But I had far more requests to put all the crap I took out back in again, so I did.
When COD 7 comes out, and if it has mod tools (which I dont doubt it will) I will do the same again - take it back to basics for the die-hard old time COD players. |

my thought's exactly ![[thumbs_up]](images/BBCode/smilies/thumbs_up.gif) agree 100%
sadly , in this case the success of a game i used to love has ruined it completetly , its become a whore to itself and i dont see Treyarch doing anything other than tweaking the current MP features from the last 3 titles , after all , if it aint broke dont fix it as far as the brain trust at ATVI think anyway
TBH , dedi server's or not , mod tools or not , this series has become stale and over hyped
i loved the idea it MAY have been set in Vietnam , great , but now given this info , sounds like its gonna be another EA style "re-release" with the same essential game tweaked abit with the enviroments being the only thing changed from the last outing
sorry to say guys , time to move on

you only have to look at the massive amount of stuff they added to waw...
the question is, will activision neuter them!? ![[confused]](images/BBCode/smilies/confused.gif)
I highly dought it; ATVI can't afford any more losses; just look at BFBC2; it sold over 3 million copies in its opening day. Yea not as much as MW2 but thats still very impressive.
You also have to remeber Treyarch takes care of us on the PC side, they even hire people in the modding community! Now theres dedication. They'll fight for us no dought. I like to think of them as a congress that actually works.

Official COD7 details in April!!! =o) Hopefully.
Hopefully he doesn't announce something on April 1. |

even tho that games not my thing, it is nice to see a bit of competition! keeps activision on their toes!
won't this black ops have the new medal of honour to compete with?
I'll be buying this next cod just because its treyarch.
no mod tools tho and it will be the last.
yay, 7 months of hype to come. ![[crazy]](images/BBCode/smilies/crazy.gif) |
