I tryed to post here a while ago, but it didn't seem to post for some reason, so heres take 2. Ok here's software problem. After doing several days of searching, I have tracked down the problem of why my system crashes out to the BSOD when using a map editor (both radiant, and Hammer, but espcially radiant) I have used Tuneup Utilities 2009 and have found a problem with ADS Instant HDTV PCI is not working properly. It suggests I update my drivers to solve the problem, but I do this and am told that I already have the latest drivers, and the online solution says:

Quote:
Description:
Windows was able to successfully install device driver software, but the
driver software encountered a problem when it tried to run. The problem
code is 10.

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: PnPDeviceProblemCode
Architecture: x86
Hardware Id: pci\ven_1131&dev_7133&subsys_03801421
Setup class GUID: {4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
PnP problem code: 0000000A
Driver name: Ph3xIB32.sys
Driver version: 6.0.0.7

So according to this, it's trying to start, but something is preventing
it other than outdated drivers. I did read something online somewhere that
there is a good chance it may have something to do with the registery.
Quite honestly, I have no Idea of what ADS Instant HDTV PCI is, except
that it has something to do with Sound, video and game controllers.
Anyone have any suggestions? The ADS Instant HDTV PCI is the only problem on the list when I open up my Device Manger.

I have a:

Mainboard : FOXCONN A6VMX
Chipset : AMD RS690/RS690M
Operating System : Windows Vista 32 bit operating system Home Premium Home Edition 5.01.2600 Service Pack 2
System Manufacturer: Advent
System Model: PQD5002
BIOS: BIOS Date: 06/19/08 16:02:24 Ver: 08.00.14
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) 9550 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
Physical Memory : 4096 MB (2 x 2048 DDR2-SDRAM )
Hard Disk : WDC (500 GB)
DirectX : Version 9.0c (September 2009)
DVD-Rom Drive : ATAPI DVD A DH16A6S SCSI CdRom Device
Network Card : Realtek Semiconductor RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC
-------
Card name: Radeon X1550 Series
Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc.
Chip type: ATI Radeon Graphics Processor (0x7140)
DAC type: Internal DAC(400MHz)
Display Memory: 1918 MB
Dedicated Memory: 510 MB
Shared Memory: 1407 MB
Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz)
And according to the properties box, under the device manager, the ADS Instant HDTV PCI driver version is 6.0.6000.16420
Hope this helps.

And thanks for the link techno, but it was for a Toshiba Satellite Notebook and although I looked into it for some clue, it really didn't apply. Nobody I know of has a clue to the solution, and searching the net is a waste of time too. Looks like I've run into a dead end. Thanks anyway.
