Now I know that it's 9 or 10 months away, but being a long time Medal of Honor fan, I have been given a glimmer of hope for the new game, especially after the shafting we got from IW over MW2. Being that it's still a few months away from release, it's still way too early to tell for certain how this game will pan out. But that being said the little bits of info that are starting to trickle out about it seems to be on the positive side for the PC Multiplayer FPS community. Very little is known for certain yet, but from the little info I could find (mostly from an interview I found on atomicmpc.com with Sean Decker, ex DICE guy and currently General Manager at EA) Some of the more interesting news I learned, was that the franchise's reinvention has lead EA to set the game in Afghanistan, during the war that lead up to the fall of the Taliban. It's a real war, and one that's still being fought, which brings with it a host of difficulties - and some rare opportunities.
Quote:
Sean Decker: You'll take on the role of Army Rangers for some levels, but for the most part you'll be one of the Tier 1 Ops. These are the literal best of the best, the guys who call in airstrikes, make contact with warlords, and go on what are essentially kill missions.

(Greg Goodrich, Executive Producer) We're spending the entire first half of 2010 to make the game look good, and really mining out all the fun stuff."

...And you can lean, too...

Quote:
The game features almost no HUD at all so far. You get incoming fire indicators, and a simple ammo counter that fades after you stop firing. Otherwise, it's all just game: sound, impact effects, destructible scenery, some very pleasing knife kills, and just solid, down to earth action.

Quote:
"There's no worse experience than the lobby, and voting, and host migration, and all that. It's a bad experience."

Sean DeckerI'll say this up front - it has to have dedicated servers.

So if your interested in this game at all, you should check out the whole interview at the link below. It's a 2 page interview but worth the read.

EA has the potential to make a MW2 killer on the PC; now some would say BFBC:2 could do this, but in my eyes this is just another console port as the first one wasn't even avaible on the PC. They have opened up their eyes in MOH and finally noticed that with the anger caused by certain developers they can steal a very large margin to go over too their games, making it a win/win for us all. For now...
