I'm having some scale issues exporting static mesh objects from Maya 8.5 into Radient. A player model is 72 units high. In Maya, i make a cube 72 units high. My grid lines are every 16 units, and my subdivisions are set to 4.

However, when i import the mesh in to Radient, the cube is way smaller then what is expected.

The strange thing is, when i export the cube as a .obj object and import it into 3d studio max, it is exactly 182.88cm high, which equals 72 inches ,which is supposed to be the correct height of a player model.

Has anyone experienced this problem before? I don't really want to be fudging meshes in radient by scaling them up and down.

Thanks

Maya's default units is centimeters, unless you changed it. I would just stick to centimeters in Maya, inches probably throw off the plugin by not being recognized to whatever you set it (inches) and converts it as maya's/CoD's default format (centimeters) without making the proper scale changes to your model.

Thanks for that. I looked up the settings thing in Maya and changed it to inches, now it matches up to Radient measurements [rocking]

My only problem now is getting 3d Studio max measurements/grid to meet up with Maya's. When i import the cube that is the correct size from Maya into Max, it's way out with my grid. It's telling me its 464.5cm in height, even though system unit setup is 1unit=1 inch.

so confusing!
