Well, i just started a zombie server in cod2 1.0 and someone is crashing the server with an stupid cfg based on spamming the server saying aaaa hundred of times.I saw somewhere that there is a fixed cod2.exe that doesn't allows that spamm,so i ask here if someone have it and can give it to me, i really need it...thanks.

You could modify every gametype so that the name mode is the manual_change (like it is for Search and Destroy).

In every gametype script, there is the function, setClientNameMode. This can either be "manual_change" or "auto_change".

Manual change means the client's name will not be changed until the end of the round or map_restart. (Search and Destroy does this)

Auto change means the client's name will change whenever they change it. (Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch use auto)

If you change it so every gametype uses manual instead of auto, you could eliminate that threat! However, the only disadvantage is no one's name would change...
nullFew tips for coding.
1. Keep the script as short as possible.
2. Don't comment every line. Only comment portions where they may be needed to point something out.
3. Don't over complicate the script, keep it organized and easy to read.

These help you find simple errors and makes it easy to make changes.

I think you've misunderstood what the problem is - its a variation on the QuakeBoom\CODBoom exploit. This happens when the game tries to build a string longer than 1024 chars using va(), the function which calls snprintf and returns a pointer to its static buffer. In the COD2 version of the exploit, a player can take advantage of a hole in the mapvote system and exceed the va() cache and crash a server.

It was patched out in the 1.2/1.3 patches.

There is no unofficial patch by Luigi Auriemma for it for COD2 1.0, so the only option is to disable mapvote or patch to 1.2 or 1.3.
