Is there a server config entry or a small mod to turn earthquakes off?

Or can someone point me in the right direction for making a mod to turn this off myself!

In SP, yes you can. In MP, which I think your reffering to, you cannot, unless, you are running your own server, not using a public server etc.

If it is your server, you can check out the mod.cfg or similar file in there, there should be an option to have earthquake mode on for example an on line would be something like.

Code:
set_earthquake "1"


What you want to do is change the 1 to 0, so something along this line.

Thanks for your help Ownage, but I wish it was that simple. I've been running servers for years, and writing config and gsc files for quite some time. I just have had no luck in finding where the earthquakes are referenced, and the headache from looking at .gscs and .cfgs are almost as bad as the effect itself. I am hoping for a simple fix. AWE has a earthquake handler built in, and I really don't want to run that mod on top of Brothers, so I know its possible.

Another common name used is shellshock, but like you said it might not be referenced in the script at all.

Artillery earthquake is done in maps\mp\gametypes\_hardpoints.gsc in the artilleryImpactEffects( ) function

The earth quakes were purposely increased as everyone I spoke to in the early days of the mod though the effect was quite pathetic, but obviously this is not to everyone's taste.
