gosh darnit! tankhunt was looking promising too!
ownage is freakin obsessed with bocage for some reason! its a field dude! and theres THREE versions already!
heh! there is a map i wanna do...but at the rate i go, now way will it be done before BO's loose! ...so maybe another dirty decompile till we know the stats on Body Odours mod tools......
i was thinkin a really dark, really wet and stormy ca....
unless something else takes my eye that is.... |

Its not any mods fault - it happens with all mods when run on a dedicated servers. Its down to the client script side of things - they dont pick up the dvar properly when run on a dedicated server. Things are fine on a local server - its just when you get to the client side of things, the dvar isnt read properly. Im pretty sure its only a question of getting the timing correct.
I'll play around with things once I get a chance. See what I can do. |

I cant test this properly as I cant compile any test changes into your map files. If I work from the mod directory itself, putting edited GSC and CSC files into my mod, everything works properly. But if I take the changes out of the mod and put them in the map IWD file, that is, if I work from the usermaps folder instead, the game doesnt read them from the IWD file and changing dvars doesnt do anything - the effects are always off no matter what the dvar says.
However, I have established that its the clientscript file that is causing the problem - positioning the dvar check on the right line in the clientscript file and getting the timing right as when the dvar is actual read by the clientscript file does work.
All I can say is if you want to keep this idea, you will have to play around with the positioning of the dvar in the clientscript file yourself, compile the changes into your zone files, and keep trying. |

V1.2 fixes
===========
snow and fog dvars removed because of some mod incompatibilitys.
set scr_allow_thinfog "0" - (disallows a thinner volumetric fog setting)
and set scr_cold_breath "0" to server.cfg to switch off.
should both still work.
