I tride to understand how a mapeditor works of cod. BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND ANY poo-poo OF IT!!!!!!

I want to make WW1 map because i have some cool information and pictures of a battle fought on a small front.
I downloaded a editor but i don't understand any of it!
Can someone give me a more friendly editor?
Or perhabs can help me with building one?

I really sympathise ... I'm at the same place - downloaded UOTools, set it up, looked at it and clicked help ... no help ... the interface is WAY complex and the tutorials all start with the assumption that you know how to use an editor .... not very helpful if you're a newbie. Still the setting up your editor tutorial is good and works! Now ... who can tell us where to start!? I'll settle for adding a square of ground with a sandbag on it for starters!

People you have to start by the beginning.
First of all you have to download the "Video Tutorials"
made available on this side.
These explain the basics of "Mapping".
Work through these videos of "Call of Duty"-mapping.
What maps are you working on i mean "SP" or "MP" ?.

i agree with 3dart....the best place to start is at the beginning

wyatt did some very informative tutorials for getting used to the way the editor works, and how to do various things

for the most part - the majority of the tutorials are for regular cod - but the principals apply

i really suggest making a small map to test different things out - and work your way up to a full blown map

learn to walk before you run type of theory

No mean to sound arsh here but you never worked with 3D programs before did you? Radiant is by far one of the simpliest 3D editor I`ve worked with. Try yourself on 3D Studio Max...You`ll kill yourself after 15 minutes...

Vid tuts are awesome. Wyatt really guides you step by step on how to get started, the do`s and don`ts. After 1 or 2 days you`ll already get the hang of it, trust me
