textured and rigged the model (with a rig that is already working ingame),then going to outliner and selecting j_mainroot and selecting the model mesh and going to skin>>bind skin>> smooth bind, color>>apply color>> white then, opening the model exporter and click force Export Selected Joints,in the outliner window i'm selecting all that has a plus beside it then clicking Export Selected En it goes to 5% and i get this error "XmodelIData::convertMayaData: No meshes to export. Possible errors :duplicate mesh names, no meshes selected"

anyone know what i'm doing wrong here?(probably a lot XD)

I dont know if this will help but this is the page I used for adding an edited g3 with new parts into MW1 and following it the instructions worked. They must all be done in the correct order. The first time I didnt bind something correctly in the gun model and some of the animations came out messed up. I think I double bound something.

If everything is ready to be exported do not select joints in the outliner. The animation exporter will select the correct ones for you. Tried to make it work using the outliner the first time also and it didnt work. In this case since it was a stock animation rig the frame start-ends for each animation were already preset.

However I havent made a custom animation yet so there would obviously be other steps.

I see. Youre working on a character, which I have never done, and the page is geared towards weapons. The procedures could certainly be different. After clicking 'set exports' look at the outliner and see if it actually chooses both the joints and the meshes. If so then perhaps its something with the export settings themselves

You cant just bind the skeleton to the meshes, you must "paint" influencer and weight, check out Youtube, in particular this video, there are plenty out there to learn.

After you open the export window...
Go to window -> hypergraph scene heirarchy
Highlight everything....
then go back to the export window and click set exports and export

Still, without influencer and weights the meshes wont be deformed correctly...

Whats an influencer? I have never needed that before, just weights is all you need.
