Assman is very buggy, even after the file is deleted assman may insist it is still there. I recommend going into the CoD4 directory and making a folder called texture_assets then creating the texture agian, and attempting it over agian. |

First off, you don't save the TGA to GDT. The GDT (Game Data Table) is a file that stores data for assets (materials, models, weapons).
So you make a material (check those checkboxes, put in the name of the colormap and any other maps etc) and you save those settings as a GDT file so that if you change the TGA you won't have to redo those operations. You would just open the GDT (after saving the TGA to the same location as before), select the material and press F10 (convert current asset only).
And you don't have to make a GDT for each material, as it can hold multiple assets.
So, I suggest you to create a blank GDT file first, in texture_assets (as Ownage said), save it, add your material, convert it and save the GDT again. If it still disappears (because I think this is your problem, didn't really understand), then it could be a Vista/7 problem. And double check the save path.
I have XP and never had a problem with AssMan or the ModTools.
Could you post a picture of AssMan with your material selected. I want to see what settings you have. |
