Alright, I've been mapping for Call of Duty already (didn't finish anything yet). So I know some basics on how to do things.

First off, how do you texture something? I'm finding it difficult to find where the textures are.

How do you make lights?

Glass?

Sliding doors?

Switches?

Computer screens?

Or you could just find a site with 50+ good tuts.

Theres only scripting and a few other things for tuts here... Not much help. I know about the video tuts, but it takes me, no joke, 40 minutes to download. With cable.

The video tuts are great though, and worth the wait, it helps to actually see things in action, as opposed to just reading about "how to"

We are happy to help answer questions also, but what you listed there is about 10 pages worth of answers to questions, so really you need to read/watch some tuts to get a basic understanding of D3 ed first, and ask as you run into issues.

EDIT - Oh by the way, can you, or someone else give just a quick tut or something on where the textures are? A pic at least?

Dang it. I downloaded that first video. I load it in winamp but no video shows up, just the guy talking. Help please?

Helloooo? Anyone out there?

I found how to texture things, but more than 3/4 of the textures won't show up on any of the brushes or in the little preview box when I click on them from the list. HELP PLEASE!

*Sigh* yet another thing, I made a small room, a light, a player start location, i saved, I pressed f2, then typed "dmap maps/test.map" (test.map is the name of my map), and it gives me a warning that it can't be found.

Also, in many of these tuts, my editor looks NOTHING like the editor they use. And when I put render mode on, the entire 3d view screen goes black, no matter which way I look, even if I am in a room that is lit by a light.

Can someone PLEASE HELP!?!?!
