Also how would you get custom maps on iwnet..[casanova]

Can easily have HTTP redirect set up somehow maybe by host/actual map like in L4D2, and the map plays on IW Net locally off the host with real time hot join via the HTTP so you don't bog down the host. Just an idea, but I'm sure IW has something creative up their sleeves, if tools will work for MP at all that is. If anything I think the above system with HTTP might work, but custom maps won't even play off IW Net to begin with, maybe they'll add some stripped down version of IW Net for dedi servers but only for unranked.

Sent youre files to iw so they can rip and steal stuff for mw3[casanova]

Don't modders do that too for their mods? Look at what Techno2SL wrote on top of 2nd page.

There is no point trying to counter this myth Sparky. Its like an Urban Legend: it goes around the community so many times, it becomes "truth". And again, just like an Urban Legend, you'd have a pretty hard time unravelling truth from fiction.

I think the only real instance of IW coming close to taking an idea from the community is Grant Collier's admission in a video interview he did in 2008 that modders wouldnt have to remove the hud anymore because they have done that for us with the hardcore mode.

Other than that, IW are more likely to copy another GAME's ideas rather than a community modders ( I mean, Im no expert on games but I can see stuff even in vCOD which you can find in MOH:AA, or stuff in COD2 that you could find in DOD/DOD:S, and stuff in COD4 you find in Battlefield 2 or any of the other generic Modern Warfare games).

I believe we wouldnt have been seeing all these false accusations of IW ripping modders off had MW2 been the hit that COD4 was - simply because what we are seeing is people venting their anger at IW. I think that because everyone was hugely let down by MW2, they are allowing themselves to fall into the trap of making false accusations against them. I mean, I even see people saying its ok to pirate MW2 because they didnt give us dedicated servers. Serves them right, they say. Is that right? Some will still say it is, but Im glad to say the majority will still say it isnt: 2 wrongs dont make a right!

Lets not allow ourselves to let our emotions rule our heads. IW havent ripped anyones maps or mods off. Its just the anger talking.

Ok I think this topic has run its course. I think we can all agree that it is highly possible that there will be mod tools for CoDMW2.
