640 mb ram
gforce 4 Ti 4100 128mb

and i just had a comcast pro commerical inernet line connected today 6mb net.

what ive already done is reduced my desktop to minimal pizels, i run the game not in fullscreen in 420x640

my viedo card everything set for optimal performance
and run no other backround programs,
rigeriously cleaned my pc for spyware/viruses/other poo-poo like tthat
AND I STILL GET MAD LOW FPS

IS THIS BECAUSE MY SYSTEM = poo-poo
OR IS THERE A WAY TO FIX IT, TWEAK IT MAYBE

You should probably upgrade your graphics card :S thats what usually causes problem. The Ram is not always the case. I use a laptop, with awesome graphics card (one of the top graphics cards) and my ram is only 512mb and i have dsl connection (300kb/s) and i have NO LAGG whats so ever (160-200fps) So i recommend getting a new graphics card. There don't cost that much. Around $100CAD at Best Buy. Hope this helps [drink]

Oh yeah and you should upgrade your prosessor. I have a prossesor at 3.20ghz so yeah...900mhz kinda sucks (my like 6 year old desktop has better lol)

I'm not sure if there is any console commands but they probably woulden't increase your fps dramaticly (maybe 1-4 fps higher) I recommend getting either a high end graphics card from nVidia GeForce or get ATI's Radeon 8500 graphics card. And another main reason is your prosessor. My brothers laptop has a 1.7ghz prossessor and he laggs a bit. I have a 3.20ghz prossesor and mine is clearest NO LAGG at highest resolution. Your ram is not that much of an issue i have onlu 512RAM so yours is fine.

I dont think its a good idea to spend your money on a new graphic card because i think with AMD 997Mhz you will have a motherboard that supports only AGP 2x or maybe if your lucky APG 4x so if you buy an ATI 9600 that run on AGP 8x or simular nVidia card you will never have the full futures of the card because of your motherboard and you will still have a bad FPS. I think its time for you to buy a new pc BUT be carefull dont buy a low budget pc our you will be stuck again next year. Here are some things to consider :
Take a processor that support 64-bit (windows xp 64 comes out soon). Use DDR2 instead of DDR it is faster and it is the same price. Make sure your motherboard supports PCI-Express 16x for your new graphics card and make sure it supports S-ATA for your harddrives it is the future standard.
Take a S-ATA harddrive (150Mb/s) it is faster then the U-ATA of today (only Maxtor has real 133MB/s speed).
The price of this kind of system will be around 900-1200 € without monitor

Your not going to increase your frame rate with console commands it's just not going to happen. You could change a few settings in your Doom3config.cfg, Like how it draws shadows and a few other things but again...your not really going to increase your frame rate.

I serious update is needed I'd say. I've never played doom3 on the net (I'd love to) and the single player stutters for me now and again so I could do with a little spring clean in the old machine.

New processor which probably means new Main board which probably means New DDR ram then get a new NVidia graphics card, you can get them quite cheap on overclockers.com
