Good idea for a contest however i don't believe the community here is much into L4D2 mapping aside from the staff/mods? I would have thought a COD mapping contest would have been more in tune with the audience here?

You are right, but hopefully this will introduce some new faces and persuade a few people to pick up hammer too give it a shot.

It's a good idea to try and boost the L4D community as like you said, apart from myself and often welshy or foyle not much zombie talk goes on.

There are a good handful of people who use Hammer/L4D SDK here in the community...

Rasta, Strider, SparkY!, Welsy, Jynx, sherlokpwnz, SweetChastity, explorer7, TopBuzzUK, Gunfighter, DarkCyder, SporadiC, and more.
That's more than enough to meet the 4 maps per Stage requirement. :)

Hey Foyle or Stryder, have you guys thought about posting information for this contest at the Valve forums to get some new faces over here? [wink]

Entrants only have to create one map per stage not four.

For example if I entered the contest, for stage one, I would create my first chapter (consisting of one map) and submit it.

Entrants are not required to create a full campaign for each stage just one chapter per stage. At the end of the contest the winning maps from each stage will be put together to create a community made campaign.

Good luck to everyone that enters. I am looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with. If anyone needs help please feel free to post in the forums and we'll be right there to help.

i think Sparky meant that we would have more than enough entries per stage to meet the minimum number required (4) for a winner to be declared

hope this clears any confusion

Valve probably has the largest modding community in the world, so yeah this could bring in some new faces.
