Personally, I dont know how I feel about this news. I dont know whether to rejoice, or just go "meh" as I uninstalled MW2 before Christmas as its a POS game. I suppose it will be nice to have the assets to port over to COD4, but other than that I doubt I will mod for it.

Even with the release of the tools; I would imagine the modding community would be none to happy about anything they give us. In my point of view I say hell with the tools for MW2; unless they open up the console and give us some dedis. Otherwise I'll go over to source level desiging or just stay back with WaW and 4.

I'm really excited about getting the tools now. I still haven't played Multiplayer but I've played Spec-ops and the single player a couple of times, enjoying it immensely.

For me it wasn't very immersing, (although the SAS missions were) the environments are what kept me playing, I'd be running around looking at all the details all while getting shot in the face... but still left me with a wanting to make large scale modern levels.

So for me it's great news [thumbs_up]

I haven’t spent a single penny on this game or even played a single second of it and the release of mod tools isn't going to change that. IW lost my support the moment they took away dedicated servers.

i have to admit the mapper in me was liking the idea of making somthing along the lines of the Rio type enviroment , just not enough to be tempted to buy the game to do it , especially if the dedi server situation remained unchanged

if they announce anything along the lines of an update that allows unranked dedi servers to be setup to run maps and mods i might be tempted , i doubt it will happen because that would almost be an admission of a massive mistake with IWnet and who knows what steaks they have riding on that model

we will have to wait and see i guess

I'm selling my MW2 Xbox copy towards the purchase of the PC version. Too many boosters, cheaters, and exploiters on the console... not that the PC version is perfect, but at least I'll be able to map and mod for Spec Ops and Singleplayer. =o)

PC Version = too many boosters, cheaters and exploiters.

Its no different Sparky. Both games are the same, not only in experience but in the physical game itself: identical code-base = identical problems.
