i'm happy to present to you a series of 7 video tutorial's on the subject of portaling ! a much ignored but very important part of any CoD map

they try to cover everything from the very basic's all the way to up advanced stages , like using t-junction's to our advantage and split level portaling

i just portal textured the small outside face instead of overlapping them! it works!

Videos are looking good. Just wanted to pick up on one point though which people will come across at some point while portalling very large/complicated level. The portal brush does not need to touch on all sides, as in the portal no draw, this texture can be floating it really has no properties in game whatsoever, if you hit the D on the tool bar it will disable the portal no draw so you can see the portal texture in it's true capacity, a two faced single plane.

reason i ask , i mention all that in that vid and so my concern is that it didnt come across clearly enough !

Yup that's the one I checked out, you were saying that all 4 sides of the brush needed to be flush with the structural walls and while that's good practice there will be cases where that thinking might cause some confusion. I'll try and check out all the videos later and will happily point out any mistakes lol
