This is a video tutorial explaining the process of making a simple Left 4 Dead 2 map. The video explores the basics of the Hammer editor, the creation of a room with a player spawn point and lights, and the compile process and finishes with a playable level.

Nice job buddy. I was gonna whip up a few vids but looking at the popularity l4d mapping seems to have i didn't know if it was worth the time. Plus i'm not so sure i have the video editing skills you used

With that said, i really enjoy using hammer so i may see what im can come up with, what other tuts will you be doing?

More tuts are planned for today. At least two more extending from what I have done. The tutorials will consist of going from this room, expanding to a safe room and then adding nav meshes for the AI and infected.

I haven't planned more beyond that.

And video skills? lol. This video was the second take of a one-shot deal. Throw a title image on the front and back and done. The first take was with Jynx and Welshy, but came out really sloppy as was evident from the 50+ minute video time (this is more like 30+).

As you can see I'm trying to ramp up some L4D2 editing awareness around here. Members here might need those skills one day.
