When using multiple layers of decals on custom textures the game gives me problems with DirectX9 techniquesets (not drawing the conflicting area in-game). I'm sure this has something to do with the AssMan settings because this only happens with custom textures but I have no idea what settings to change to prevent this problem. The error occurs during the compiling process.

Notice how the custom decals on the wall work fine but the sidewalks are not drawn.

edit:

Another example: the poster on the wall to the right works fine, but the ground decals are not drawn:

Post a photo of the light maps for those areas in Radiant.

Perhaps could also raise the decal 1 (or .5) unit above the main layer. But first show photo of the light maps as it may just be they're stretched out.

The lightmaps were already fixed, I'll raise them with the lowest possible grid settings ( 0.25 ) and see how it looks in-game, I hate using cheap-ass solutions like this. [tongue]

Its an known issue, basically some texture combination dont work toghether, it can be with 2 textures or more often with 3 or more layers. The reason seems to be conflict of material properties define and no appropriate Techsets in the raw files we have.

The easiest solution is to change one of the texture, usually the _blend or you can higher the offending texture by 0.25 units: its usually not visible by the players and will result in no techset being required.

Now that you say it I have no idea why I mentioned DirectX9.
Raising them a bit seems to work well, not any noticeable difference in-game.
