Oh, W@W :)

I've tried to do that with my bus, turn it to OBJ, then load it into Maya and export it but some faces ended up missing. Hope that doesn't happen to you.

I think the method of installing the plugins is the same.
The lines in maya.env tell Maya where to look for the CoD5 export plugins, so this is important. Make sure the address is correct and you use backslahes.
The file usersetup.mel creates the new menu that appears in Maya.

So the .mlls don't load ? Try setting them to Auto-Load. If that doesn't work, maybe they're not good. Or maybe your version of Maya isn't good. I know that it won't work with Personal Learning Edition.

I can't think of anything else, so good luck.

I've tried again now, but the exporter in Maya doesn't have a Source Folder it just says "/" but it should be "/model_export" - how to change this?

edit:

Nevermind, you have to place the model in /model_export and open it from there

edit:

Ugh same bullshit as before, can't load the plugins:

// Error: The requested file type does not have write support. //
// Error: Unable to dynamically load : C:/Program Files (x86)/Activision/Call of Duty - World at War/bin/maya/Maya8_Plugins/XModelExport.mll
//
// Error: //
// Error: (XModelExport) //
// Error: XModelExport plugin is not loaded //

Yes, I have a 64-bit processor and Windows XP 64-bit
Do people still have 32-bit these days?
I need hundreds of custom models for my mod I don't want to keep asking a friend to do it for me. :/ No way to modify the files maybe?

edit:

I think Maya installed 32-bit and 64-bit like 3ds Max does, I might be able to run it trough 32-bit.

edit:

What a flicking surprise, it doesn't.

Actually this might indicate a problem with permissions or something .... Have you tried installing Maya in another folder than Program Files (x86) like in C:\maya for instance.

I accidentally copied that line too, I simply couldn't 'overwrite' the file probably because the model was made in Max then imported in Maya.

I'll try installing Maya 32-bit and see how it goes, it better work or I'm screwed. [banghead]

Is it a legitimate copy of Maya? Because I know people with legit copies and it works fine on Win 7 64 bit, but pirated copies dont work properly.

Using Maya from a friend of mine, hes currently importing all my models so why it doesn't work with me I don't know. Hes on vacation right now but when he comes back I'll ask him whether hes using 32-bit or 64-bit.
