"can't find preview image".
Anybody has another idea how i can solve the problem?

I have that problem too. It has never worked for some of the models for me. I go to docs and then model pics to most of them.

But you have preview of some xmodels???
because i don't have previews of any models.
How did you do to see the preview of some models?

If you're adding an xmodel, be sure that the search dialog is in the correct location (raw/xmodel). It will sometimes start in prefabs/misc_models, and won't show the images because there are .map files (prefabs) in that folder and not xmodels.

So browse to raw/xmodel and you should have previews (some of the models don't have them, though).

Just right click on the 2d grid, goto misc, goto prefab (make sure it says 'look in' 'prefabs'), aftermath, misc, power tower. see if that shows up for you. I don't think I have done anything special to get the prefabs/models that show up. I think the only ones that you can see have an accompanying photo. don't know that for sure though. gl

Yesterday I got another problem:
When I press the escape to deselect a brush it deletes the brush! Sometimes it deletes the brush and sometimes not!
It's very strange.
Any ideas?

Sounds like you have some weird stuff going on. I don't know what to suggest but to try reinstalling the tools. Might want to get a 2nd opinion before doing that though. Sry, I couldn't help.

I'm almost positive you're not looking in the right place.
What if you add a prefab, do you get previews then ?

The second problem might have an easy solution. It could be that it doesn't delete the brush, just hides it. Press F and make sure everything is checked.
I had the same problem once, with the chainlink fence texture. The brush dissapeared in Radiant but appeared in game. When I checked Translucent in Filters, it appeared.

I add a model and I have no previews
I add a prefab and I don't have previews too!

If you were thanking me for the solution to the 2nd problem, then you're welcome :) If not, nevermind.

As far as I know, the preview images are loaded from [root]/docs/model_pics ('root' is where CoD4 is installed). Check to see if you have that folder and that the pictures are there.

If everything else fails and you can't find an answer to your problem, you could use those images to preview models manually (but it would be a hassle).
