usually when they say add this to your .gsc it means add this somewhere inside your .gsc ( gamescript file ). It usually doesnt matter where but there are occassions where i believe certain things have to be called before certain lines. And then you can add your own .gsc files and watnot.

For mp .gsc ( multiplayer scripts ) they go in your raw/maps/mp folder. thats where it should be and you can make changes to it at anytime in there. It should be called "mp_mapname.gsc" where "mapname" should be changed to w/e the name of your map. I hope that clears up a small amount. if your having any more difficulty try reading from stock maps. That might help. if you have more questions feel free to ask and we ( the community ) will try and help you with it.

The best/easiest way to start a map GSC file off is to grab mp_backlot.gsc from raw\maps\mp. Then change the name of "backlot" to your map's name.

Open up the GSC file with a good text editor. Worpad is ok, but there are free programmer tools out there (I use Programmers Notepad which is free to download). Once open, go through the whole file and replace ever instance of the word "backlot" with the name of your map.

Comment out (that is place a double forward slash // in front of) any lines calling files which you dont have (yet).

That's it for a beginners' map GSC file.
