hey i always wonderd some areas in my map my whole body will turn black. i can see and everything just character turns black i bet alot of people had this problem and was wonderding how i could get rid of this i have the lights covering the room so idk i even have spots on my map that dosnt have light and if i go in third person i can see my persons body not in all black, so i realy just wondering if anyone knows why this happends and how to fix this.

well all i have is classname worldspawn, didnt realy use any worldspawn settings sence my map is indoors not going to be outdoors. even when i sometimes am in my light my body will still be black.

All worldspawn values have been posted by Caretaker in the cod2 tutorials: Here

Open Radiant to your map. Press N. In the top window scroll down to the bottom and find worldspawn.

Lets say you want to use the same lighting as Breakout. Then enter the values one at time like this:

northyaw [TAB]
90 [ENTER]
_color [TAB]
1 .95 .95 [ENTER]

...and keep going until all values are entered. Compile and test your map. Lighting should be fine.

right this isnt my first map lol i know how to use worldspawn settings i just never knew u could use it in indoors i always thought it was for skyboxs good that i know now thanks.

Worldspawn settings are set for the WHOLE world! Meaning the light settings will be applyed to every brush that isn't a script_brushmodel (all entites with a classname other than worldspawn will not have them). Worldspawn settings are used to set a global lighting scheme. This way if you don't have a "light" (one of the dimond things) in some spots, they will still have light from something such as the sun or moon.

Even if your map is indoors, it is still useful to set worldspawn settings that way you won't be left in the dark :P
nullFew tips for coding.
1. Keep the script as short as possible.
2. Don't comment every line. Only comment portions where they may be needed to point something out.
3. Don't over complicate the script, keep it organized and easy to read.

These help you find simple errors and makes it easy to make changes.
