You could probably use a directx scene ripper and dump the scene to a file, then do some work on it and get the model out.

This works to an extend but without the console in MW2 you cannot get the weapon probably aligned and they end up all skewed. It does work though, once skew is fixed you can create tag and re-create materials from MW2 IWIs.

ok i'll try it :)

yesterday i found these pictures in à xfire profile. it is à mod containing mw2 weapons
http://www.xfire.com/profile/05hepburn/

because i have little modding experience: is it tough to get the models and rescew them?

I'll have to download à mw2 and open the console in that one with à hack

Wow I didnt know this was possible, but according to the screenshots it is.

Whats the directX scene ripper? How does it work? Because im interested in getting the Xmodels also.

PS: isnt there some illegality in doing this though?

I dont believe 05hepburn has any models from MW2 - they are from CCS, COD2 and other games where the models are easily exported. He said that over at CusomCod.com.

For the CCS ones, I believe he used the Modern Weapons mod by Seven Sniff for COD2, and exported the COD2 xmodels to MW1.

Hmmmm I have seen the Cod2 models before etc and they dont look like that at all. The ak he uses at 1 point looks just like the AK from MW2
