Just got this update in my email from COD4Forums guys.

'When it rains, it pours' is the long used expression. Fortunately, for MW2 the rain for us is MW2 news, and it should be flooding by now. The latest update is quite possibly one of the biggest ones we've had since the original trailer. MW2 will be receiving a 3rd Person Mode.

I'm sure it was just as much a shock to you as it was me. The news first released based off leaked footage from someone who already has a copy of the game. At first it was taken with a grain of salt because the footage was crappy and many thought it could have easily been manipulated.

Then more and more footage starting popping up. Then the bombshell from Robert Bowling finally dropped on Joystiq. MW2 would in fact feature a third person mode. Here's his exact words about the mode:

"It's not something you can toggle on and off in ANY game. The special mode can only be played in private matches -- toggled on or off just like "Hardcore" settings -- or in playlists that are designated for third-person play" he continues, "This is just another cool way to play the game, you obviously will still have the option to play gametypes normal as well."

So there you have it. A completely new way to get down on some COD.

Haha, well there you go, i remember back in v.cod we used to mess about in third person trying to pistol whip each other.. This brand new feature will surely make us forget about all the server stuff right?..oh wait...

Your right vT-Ownage, i'm looking forward to L4D2 now, think i'll start modding for that instead.. cod officially died for me.

i dont remember First Person Shooter having 3rd person anywhere in the name of the genre.

Yeah thats really not the same as the aiming is way off and your screen is centred at the back of your chars head.


I think this is cool i always welcome third person in games its more immersive for me, gives me a sense of my entire body rather than a gun running around.
