According to Rudedog, as of right now, there is no mod support in the game, or on IWNet.

You will only be able to customize a game in "private match" mode. That means that some player decides to get a few mates and runs a Listen server, and they all connnect to it and play. The IP is not broadcast over IWNet - you cannot join a private match from IWNet just like you cant in XBL.

This means that, if modded servers become possible, and someone decides to run a mod and some custom maps, the other players will need to know about your server in some other way than to catch sight of it on the server lists we are all used to. We will have to get used to finding other ways to advertise our servers, our maps and mods, so that people can grab them before they join a "private match".

I dont even want to consider the possibility of no HTTP redirect, but I dont see it coming.

Well we keep hearing about these 'special features' that will 'wow' the player, looks like we have now found one, only thing is it didn't wow us in the way we wanted :/

They are moving the console playability... everything related to the console version of the game... to the PC. Basically IW will control the servers and the game and everything. There will be no place to upload your custom content and therefore... no more maps, mods or community. [sad]
I'm gonna discuss this further tomorrow on MODSonair.
