Hello, I've recently been doing map work and I have gotten pretty far on my map, and got to the point of putting custom textures. I have read the tutorials on how to create the .arena file and the mp distribution for making a .iwd but I ran into a problem. I get a little confused on how to make the .iwd but I figured it out for the most part. Only problem I still have is that even after creating the .iwd, my textures remain white. I am almost positive I have structured the files correctly, but I found out more on a wikipedia about something that wasn't mentioned from what I know in the tutorials. For custom textures, it is said you need to edit the level tab in the asset manager.

Regardless of doing this, I had gotten 2 errors that didn't specify the problem. I realised then that I didn't have a BSP in the right location to generage it. After fixing that, it allows the level tab to convert and all the materials, but if I run the converter aftewards, I get 3 errors this time.

I may be doing much more then I need to be doing, but I am really confused here. I have been trying to get this .iwd to work for hours now and I am stumped. Any pointers?

Also, I have been mapping for a good while, so I have a lot of it down, but the iwd part confuses me, especially because it took me a while to figure out the main directories of the images folder etc.

If your .iwi's are all in the iwd and should be working, then you could just move the iwd to the folder of whichever mod you're running when you test the map.

Just make sure, once you've finished it, that this goes in cod4/usermaps/mapname along with the rest of the stuff.

I've been compiling all day trying different things. I almost got it to work, but from changing so much crap in the asset manager, messed some stuff up. Gonna be another 2 hours before I can see if it even works [mad]

Hi,
did you start your map with a mod? If not, use the modtools custom commandline and insert "+ set fs_game Mods/Modwarfare".
The custom textures should shown ingame then (if u had the .iwd file in your usermapfolder). Go and make a folder calles "usrmaps" (if not exists) in the cod4 main directory and create another folder called mp_yourmapname. Your maps .ff files can be found in your zone folder. Copy the files into your usermaps map folder and run the map with "use custom commandline" ticked.

This is the way it work for me.

Regards
