Hiya out there,

couldn't find anything to this: Is it possible to create a Cylinder (and cap the top and bottom) and texture it to a Skybox?
To get the Map running, i think i have to make a normal Skybox over the Cylinder (Skybox contains the Cylinder), or did the Radiant ignore Textures wich wasn't set to usage > sky ?!?

If anyone had some Answer to me come and make my Day [thumbs_up]

Your skybox can be any shape you want, doesn't have to be square but it does need to be made from brushes because patches are 'invisible' in game.

Why would you want a round skybox anyway? it will make no differenve at all to the look/performance of your map.

the shape of the skybox doesn't matter at all, but you better use a simple brush to avoid leaks and for best performance

I just thought a skybox without corners looks a bit smoother then a cubed one...[duh]

no, it won't. try it in radiant! watch the skybox while moving left and right. It doesn't change at all.

the skybox brush is only there to delimit the map. the engine renders the sky texture onto the surfaces of the skybox, but not like UV mapping of textures other than skies. The skybox looks always the same no matter what its shape. More info about skyboxes:
