hey guys..

I have tried searching for this problem but couldn't find it.
I've seen a post about this but I'm unable to find it.

I'm building a church and it's getting along fine , however yesterday I did a little test with it and as soon as I spawn I'm look in to the barrel of my own gun. I first tought it was because I forgot to delete the model of a soldier I had used for references. I took it out recompiled it but still no good.

Any idea's about this??

Thanks in advance

when ever it has happened to me its always been because of the teams in my zone file.

But as soon as i change the team to jap it works fine.

Hope this helps

Ian.

There are plenty of threads about this both in the WaW section and the COD4 section as both games have the same "problem" (not really a problem, more a necessary procedure) - you must add the character files for the player models to your zone CSV file.

1. First, download the mptypes CSV files:

DOWNLOAD

2. Open the downloaded ZIP file and choose which mptypes you are going to use. For Marines vs Japanes, use the mptypes_pacific; for Russian vs German, use the mptypes_german.

3. Add the mptypes to your zone CSV file (located in zone_source/mp_yourmapname.csv) like this -

For Marines vs Japanese:

Quote:
include,mptypes_pacific

Or, for Russian vs German:

Quote:
include,mptypes_german

4. Make sure you have the right character set in your GSC file:

Marines vs Japanese:

Quote:
game["allies"] = "marines";
game["axis"] = "japanese";
game["attackers"] = "axis";
game["defenders"] = "allies";
game["allies_soldiertype"] = "pacific";
game["axis_soldiertype"] = "pacific";

Russian vs German:

Quote:
game["allies"] = "russian";
game["axis"] = "german";
game["attackers"] = "axis";
game["defenders"] = "allies";
game["allies_soldiertype"] = "german";
game["axis_soldiertype"] = "german";

5. When choosing to have Russian vs German, when testing your mod, you will need to run your map with a version of _teams.gsc which has been "fixed" so that it works. Download this small mod which will allow the character set to work:

DOWNLOAD CUSTOMMAPS MOD

Thats it. If you've followed the steps correctly, your models should now work ingame.

if you use the launchers create map function wont it fix this automatically? It did for me.

Open Launcher and under the maps list you will see a Create Map button. Use that and it will create all the basic files for your map.

No, you need the modded _teams.gsc for this to work if you use any other set than US vs JAP
