in a tut i read that when i want to use the same texture from one brush on to another. that all i have to do is press on texture with middle mouse button in 3d window, then press on one side of the brush were i want to add this same texture to with Ctrl+shift+middle mouse button.

it did work before, but now it doesn't copy the texture anymore, did i do back then something different that i forgot, or is there something wrong with the radiant settings or so?

so, how to grab one texture, and add it to another brush face?
would be a great help when i knew the answer to this!

thanks,

leon

no, ofcourse not. that would indeed not work, but still thanks for answering.
i read somewere that this is a bug in the cod4 editor, and that it sometimes just happens, seems you have to press severel times then in the hope it still will copy the texture.
what is a shame, because it would make texturing o so easy to do when it does work normaly,
also don't understand this because in Cod1+2 this did work very well.

You need to select the face of the brush you want to texture first (ctrl+shift+left click), then click the mousewheel on the brush face with the texture properties you want to duplicate.

hee, you could be right here !!!
you ofcourse are, otherwise you wouldn;t answer this.
this would also explain why it succeeded the first few times and later not. then i first m.mouse.b clicked on texture to crab, and then tried to paste it soemwere else.
have to do it the other way around,

thanks!!

well, the way to clone textures you described in your first post works for me, use it all the time, but of course you can also do this the other way...but the first one is quicker :)

well, i tried the second way described by Cornrow_wallace but that didn't work. don't know if it works but i don't believe it does because tuts tell otherwise.

the problem i think i have is that my m.mouse.b (wheel) has default not the function of grabing but it does zoom.
someone else suggested that i look into my start\all programs\dell to see if i can change the wheel function in to grabing in stead of zooming. (i have a dell pc and mouse). haven't done so because then i need to look up first my dell cd, also did i try to change the wheel setting in my control panel\mouse, but there is no option there to change this function.

all in all a big shame, because its so much more effort to place textures otherwise.
